'Daddy Day' not so good today

This is a blog, right? So, that means I can write about my day
and vent my frustrations out and anyone who reads this
can share in the misery. Yeah!

Ok, this is one of the worst Daddy days I've had ('daddy day'
means that I'm home playing with Benton and not working).
I woke up at 6:30am and found the water chamber for Benton's bipap
was bone dry. I had to give him two nebulizer treatments and removed two
plugs from his trach. He then threw up twice and fell asleep. While he was
asleep I went to go take pictures of the cabinet demolition and
discovered a major leak in the lower corner of the garage (thank
goodness it only rained for about a 1/2 hr). After getting off the phone
with the roofer, I then heard a noise and found this damage
to the lower deck. This is all before noon...

*If Benton smiles just once today, it'll make my day.

These two big branches came down on the deck and killed one
of the railings. It's not really that bad.

Here's the completed demolition of the cabinets this morning.
One guy showed up at 7:50am and was done and gone by 9am.

Drinking Water

It's been a long time since we tried to give Benton
water. I had no choice as our night nurse (Sheila)
decided it was time for him to starting drinking out
of a cup like a big boy. His first sip in a long time just
happened to be her drink of choice, diet Mountain Dew!
Dad was not happy!... but who knows what happens when
the parents are away, right? If he doesn't have his Grandma's
around, who else is going to feed him stuff he's not suppose
to be eating or drinking?!

Anyway, today I got home early and decided to give
Benton some practice on drinking water and he didn't
do too bad. He really picked up the sucking in the 2nd
video. Enjoy!

Garage Construction Begins and Benton Chills

The construction crew started demolition this morning and by 7:30pm
they nearly completed the support and
had the roof covered with a tarp. Quick!

Just captured Benton pushing off his elbows tonight.
(Disclaimer) we have to let you all know this is rare and he is not
doing this regularly. However, it's GREAT to see progress!

At first he wasn't so sure about the new position,
but he soon got comfortable and looked so proud of
himself. (Not as proud as Mommy and Daddy were
of him!) Wow!
