Benton turned big-boy 3! Instead of heading off to his first
day of school as planned, we started the day at Seattle
Children's hospital undergoing some tests. He's throwing up
again -- same symptoms as the last bout that landed us
in the hospital for five days in April. This time around, Benton
got an ultrasound of his GI innards, followed by a digestion
study. In the photo below, he had to remain strapped down
for an hour in this machine while docs watched his GI system
digest formula. Thankfully, he fell asleep! (No test results yet.)
Later in the day, the real birthday festivities began.
Benton would like to kick it off with a little ditty for you all.
Thanks, Aunt Deeky, for my new bells! I'll figure these
out one of these days. For now, they taste mighty fine!
And what's a birthday without a cake! Here's an
Elmo cake nurse Shelia brought for Benton to
destroy. And destroy it he did...
Everyone sing "Happy Birthday"!
And here's the photo montage. Oooohh, what's this?
Very interesting textures!
Oh boy...this is fun!
Anyone want a sweet kiss?
To bring the full cake exploration to life,
here's another great video.
After a thorough scrub-down, Benton opened the
rest of his gifts. Here he is with his new aquarium.
He just can't get close enough to those fishies! (Please
ignore the unrelated commentary in the background!)
Happy birthday, B!
